Conference paper: Paul Hurley

Paul Hurley presented a paper on his performance-related research at the (Un)common Worlds Human-Animal Studies Conference in Turku, Finland in August 2018. It was co-authored with Angela Bartram from University of Derby and was called ‘“Does that mean I have to hump Monica?:” the sexual dynamics of a human / nonhuman dog pack’. The paper theorised a performance (Be Your Dog)organised by Angela at KARST in 2016, which Paul (and his dog Barney) took part in, and looked at interspecies difference through a lens of queer theory and Deleuze and Guattari’s ideas of contagion.
